BROWSER TIPS
Your Personal AccuWeather uses tables extensively to display the maximum amount of weather information. These are best seen with the latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. You can download one of these browsers by clicking on their names. We have tried to make the site functional for every browser, so you should still be able to access all of our site; however, some information may not display as well with other browsers.

If you are using the AOL web browser, you will not be able to see animated radar and satellite images. We suggest that you try to use Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer as your browser.

We recommend that you set your browser's font sizes (for the fixed width font) to 12 points or larger. In Netscape Navigator, open General Preferences in the Options menu and select font. Then select a point size for each font. In Microsoft Explorer, open Preferences in the Edit menu. Select the Browser Display and choose "Medium" text size or larger.

COLOR REQUIREMENTS
Our site was designed to be seen on a color monitor that shows at least 256 (8 bit) colors. If you aren't sure how many colors your monitor will display, click here to test your monitor color depth.
How to change monitor color settings
Windows 95 From the Start Menu, select Settings, and then select Control Panel. Double-click on Display. Choose the Settings tab. Make sure the window on the lower left shows at least 256 colors. To see what the window ought to look like, you can see a screenshot of proper color settings. You may be able, depending on your hardware, to set the number of colors even higher, to 16-bit (High Color) or 32-bit (True Color).
Macintosh Under the Apple Menu, select Control Panels. When the folder of control panels opens, double click on the Monitors (or Monitors and Sound on Power Macintosh computers) control panel. Select the largest number of colors available on your machine. If your monitor is set to a high resolution, sometimes reducing the resolution will allow you to select more colors. To see what these control panels should look like, you can take a look at a picture here of the Monitor or the Monitor and Sound control panels.
Windows 3.x From the Control Panel, select Windows Setup. From the Options menu, select Change System Settings. Click on the Display pull-down menu to bring up a list of possible settings. Each possible setting shows a resolution (such as "1024x768") and a number of colors (such as "256c"). Select the highest resolution and number of colors you can, and click "Ok." Windows may prompt you to insert one of the installation disks at this point! You can look at screenshots of these steps.
